The University’s Inclusion and Equity Service makes interventions available to students who have a disability or DSA certification aimed at encouraging their full participation in university life.
The interventions contemplate the possibility of requesting the customization of the entrance test, the exam test, receiving a peer tutor with the function of support in transcribing notes during lectures, preparing for exams, interacting with teachers, finding bibliographic material, and assisting in moving around the University spaces.

DISTU has introduced an award for those with a disability of not less than 61 percent, a certification of DSA or other diagnosed difficulties deemed educationally relevant by the CCS. The bonus consists of the awarding of 2 points (3 for the law course) if the applicant graduates in progress, 1 point (2 for the law course) if the degree is obtained within the 1st year out of course.
Those interested in being awarded the prize should apply for it by submitting to the Education Secretariat the relevant form completed in its entirety according to the procedures described.

Scientific Dissemination Meetings, published on the website of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence (DISTU) on the Integration of Migrants in Europe – IntoME (Summer Training Schools of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence on the Integration of Migrants in Europe; coord. M. Savino, D. Vitiello).
For the “UNITUS4Refugees” project, a social support and partnership network was established for the University’s students in need and, in particular, for international students and refugees from the “UNICORE” and “UNITUS for Ukraine” projects; the network, which involves numerous associations and donors from Viterbo and the province, is a spin-off of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence on the Integration of Migrants in Europe (IntoME), in collaboration with the University’s ALUMNI ass.
At the Semi di Pace citadel (Loc. Vigna del Piano Tarquinia, VT), on Sept. 22-24, 2023, on the occasion of the 109th World Migrant and Refugee Day, the event “FREE TO CHOOSE IF MIGRATING OR REMAINING” was held.
The two days, framed within the “Porta Futuro” Project, through the promotion of activities aimed at the social and cultural development of the Lazio Region, saw a choral and participatory reflection on topical issues related to migration and asylum, with the participation of the city community, institutions and schools in the area, university associations, doctoral and post-doctoral students from the doctoral course in European and Global Market Law, faculty, as well as the student community and undergraduate and graduate students from the Law course (LMG-01) and the international master’s degree course in “Security and Human Rights” (LM-90).
The DISTU participates in CELO, the Knowledge and Education Project for Countering Hate Speech (resp. F. Petrilli), and the web portal of the Civicism and Inclusion Research Project, developed by the collaboration between the DISTU Department and the ILIESI Institute of the CNR and funded with the contribution of the Lazio Region, call “Research Group Projects 2020,” L.R. 13/08.
The portal carries out dissemination, training, in-depth study and monitoring activities on the issues of hate speech and active citizenship practices (teaching inclusion and countering forms of intolerance). The portal has an average flow of visits certified by the hosting server of between 500 and 600 pages per week. In the contexts of the University of Tuscia’s Festival of Science 2023 and the European Researchers’ Night 2023, D. Femia presented the activity titled “Educational-Application Tools for Countering the Language of Hate” and organized the DISTU booth for citizen involvement in research and participation in the session presenting the work of Unitus researchers: Research in Pills.
The initiative “UNITUS for the Elimination of Male Violence against Women,” promoted by the CUG, GEP and the University Contact Person for Inclusion Dr. M. Galli (DISTU), with the participation of the ass. stud., held on Nov. 25-30, 2022, is aimed at raising public awareness of the problem of violence against women and measures to prevent and combat it, with speeches by B. Bello and A. Bufalini (DISTU).
DISTU-DEIM interdepartmental project “Participation and education for citizenship in the territory of Tuscia from the 1970s to the present: global dynamics and local dimension,” funded by DISTU (coord. C. Papa and S. Duranti). The project consists of a part inherent to the activity of documentary research, archival, realization of interviews on the presence of migrants in the province of Viterbo and the associationism for integration, and a part dedicated to the realization, between 2022 and 2023, of a didactic workshop on lifelong education and social integration, together with teachers and students of the “Mariano Buratti” High School of Viterbo.
The DISTU and IC Montalcini agreement (appr. CD on Sept. 27, 2022 – digitally signed by the Dir. on Sept. 28, 2022, the same day transmitted via PEC to the Institute, Prot. no. 713) is aimed at a strategic collaboration between the department and public school in order to enhance and strengthen the Italian language skills of Ukrainian and Russian-speaking minor refugees at the IC “Rita Levi Montalcini” in Rome (ref. prog. A. Cifariello).
