The Support and Inclusion Service of the DEIM Department is based on the principle of ensuring equal opportunities for students with disabilities and learning disorders, from the moment they enter the university throughout their entire academic journey.
The Service addresses the needs of students through a personalized assessment of each individual, aiming to find the most appropriate solutions to promote and facilitate active participation, engagement, and interaction with fellow students, faculty, and technical-administrative staff.
The goal of the Service is to identify and design the necessary actions for each student that allow them to study and take exams in the most effective way, ensuring they can fully benefit from the educational, relational, and personal growth opportunities that the university experience offers.
The Inclusion and Equity Coordinator for the Department is Dr. Rosalba Belmonte (r.belmonte@unitus.it).
Orientation and Admission Tests
Students interested can request the use of appropriate compensatory measures during the admission tests. To obtain all the necessary information for enrolling in degree programs and learn about the procedures for signing up for the tests, it is possible to schedule an appointment with the dedicated Office and the Department Coordinator (r.belmonte@unitus.it).
Access to Services for Enrolled Students
To access the services, students must submit a valid certification through the online registration process. The certification must indicate the percentage of disability or the condition of disability as per art. 3, sec. 3 of Law 104/92.
The certification can be uploaded by the student on their personal page in the GOMP Student Portal. Additionally, it is highly recommended to send a copy to the Academic Secretariat of the degree program. This certification will remain strictly confidential and accessible only to authorized personnel.
Individual Consultations
For academic mediation concerning the needs of students attending courses and passing exams, please contact the Department’s Inclusion and Equity Coordinator directly.
Personalized Academic and Exam Arrangements
Compensatory tools and exemption measures may be granted to students during both academic activities and assessments. It is essential to personalize the compensatory measures and exemption tools according to the specifics of each course. To adjust the study and evaluation methods while maintaining learning objectives, students are advised to contact the instructor of each course in advance.
