The research aims to examine the changes in literary language in English literature from the second half of the 19th century to the early decades of the 20th century, with a particular focus on the stylistic and rhetorical strategies of key authors. Additionally, the research seeks to trace and identify how the social, intellectual, and cultural transformations of the Victorian era have diminished the ability of the predominant literary language to faithfully and realistically represent the referential world.
