EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
In the Laboratory of Innovative Strategies for Insect Monitoring, students, interns, and thesis candidates are involved in activities related to their training and the development of their experimental thesis. The laboratory also houses and maintains entomological collections, which are used during practical activities and exams in various entomology courses.
RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:
The main research activities conducted in the laboratory focus on developing innovative strategies for insect monitoring in agricultural and forestry environments. New types of traps and automated recognition systems are developed and field-tested for the timely identification of insects to be monitored. Specifically, the arthropod species involved in these activities include invasive alien species, harmful organisms affecting agricultural production and forest environments, and organisms of ecological interest that serve as bioindicators of environmental quality.
