The laboratory, located on the third floor of the Civitavecchia campus, is used for practical teaching exercises. It can host up to 16 students who can work in pairs using fully equipped workstations.
The shared equipment consists of glassware, a reagent cabinet managed by the professor in charge of the exercises, a pH meter with pH measuring electrodes, 2 heating plates, and 4 magnetic stirrers. An electronic analytical balance completes the list of small instruments.
Structural equipment in the laboratory includes a stove for drying biological samples and a chemical fume hood for handling volatile and/or hazardous reagents.
The main activity consists of teaching laboratory practices, which, by the end of the course, must be able to be performed by students with a high degree of autonomy and safety. The chemistry laboratory is used for the teaching of bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
