The objectives of the BSc in Forestry and Environmental Sciences (SFA) are to equip graduates with knowledge in the fundamentals of forestry practice and the ability to address a broad range of problems in a rapidly changing forest sector.

1) International: 3rd year at University of Valladolid (Spain) with the possibility to continue for the 4th year to obtain the diploma “Grado” (Spanish) meanwhile to be enrolled to the 1st year of the MSc at University of Tuscia

2) Forest and Environment: three years of courses at the University of Tuscia (Viterbo), with the possibility offered by the ERASMUS program for the international mobility (for study / for traineeship)

  • Learning objectives

    The objectives of the BSc in Forestry and Environmental Sciences (SFA) are to equip graduates with knowledge in the fundamentals of forestry practice and the ability to address a broad range of problems in a rapidly changing forest sector. To this end, the course is committed to educate graduates who have:

    • an ability to analyse and monitor forest ecosystems and landscapes;
    • firm base in the fundamentals of sustainable management of forest and agro-silvo-pastoral resources, and related ecosystem services;
    • an ability to use field-based data collection, data analysis techniques and modern Geographic Information Systems and design software tools to support the design or planning of interventions;
    • multidisciplinary knowledge, skills, abilities to work effectively as members of teams, composed of individuals from different disciplines and different professional cultures in the forestry and environmental sector
  • Career opportunities

    Graduates can work in public organizations responsible for forest management and monitoring, as well as in companies operating in the forestry chain and in trade and use of the forest wood. The SFA graduate can access, after passing the state exam, the Professional Register of Agronomists and Foresters – section B – Agronomist and Forestry sector. With the achievement of the Spanish “Grado” in the fourth year, he will be enabled to practice professionally in Spain.

  • Further education

    First-level graduates can continue their education in MSc degree programmes, in particular those of the LM 73 class and related classes, or in first level university masters.
