Observatory for the Study and Management of Wildlife Resources

The observatory was set up (DCD no. 44 of 15/12/2004 of the Department of Animal Production of the University of Tuscia) with the aim of improving the management of fauna by unifying the competences of the Faculty of Agriculture, currently of the DAFNE, in the field of agriculture, zootechnics and forestry.

Activities and functions:

• Promotion, drafting and execution of scientific projects in the field of fauna Scientific support for the fauna management activities of organisations or private individuals (Provinces, Protected Areas, ATC, AFV, AATV)
• Organisation of teaching activities in the field of university education (traineeships, internships, theses)
• Organisation of teaching activities in the field of wildlife training
• Collection of data on the presence of species of special wildlife interest with a network of trained surveyors
• Management and processing of data provided by other bodies or by the Observatory’s activities
• Production of scientific and popular material on the basis of the implemented data processing
