One of the strategic objectives of our University is to attract innovative researchers through the ‘Talent Valorization and Attraction’ program, in order to further enhance its reputation at both national and international levels, to encourage the pursuit of scientific excellence through funding from competitive programs, and to support frontier research proposed by high-potential researchers, both Italian and foreign, in all fields of science,” as stated by the Rector of the University of Tuscia, Stefano Ubertini.
UnitusTalent is the initiative of the University of Tuscia aimed at attracting the most outstanding and promising researchers and professors, encouraging them to actively engage in the “Excellence” pillar of the current Horizon Europe Framework Programme. In particular, the initiative focuses on participation in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and European Research Council (ERC) funding schemes, both financed by the European Commission (EC), as well as the prestigious “Rita Levi Montalcini” program for young researchers, Fondo Italiano per la scienza (FIS) and Fondo Italiano per la scienza applicate (FISA) programs funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), and other prestigious international programs in which Italy takes part, such as Human Frontier Science Program Organization (HFSPO) and European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).
Given the opportunity to increase the number and quality of proposals submitted by Unitus, the University of Tuscia intends to implement the UnitusTalent program and its strategies, which correspond to the aforementioned competitive programs, MSCA, ERC, Rita Levi Montalcini, FIS, FISA, HFSPO and EMBO.
UnitusTalent involves the publication of a call for expressions of interest aimed at researchers and professors engaged in international research operating in Italy and abroad, who are interested in submitting projects within the MSCA, ERC, Rita Levi Montalcini, FIS, FISA, HFSPO and EMBO calls with UNITUS as the host institution for their research activities.
These programs encourage, with high-level funding, investments in human resources and equipment, proposals that transcend traditional barriers between disciplines, and that propose pioneering ideas on emerging topics or innovative approaches.
To achieve this objective, Unitus promotes specific recruitment actions to attract the best international talents from around the world, that is, those researchers and professors who, at various career levels, will choose our University as the host institution and who will obtain MSCA, ERC, Rita Levi Montalcini, FIS, FISA, HFSPO and EMBO funding, as reiterated by the Rector’s delegate for Talent Valorization and Attraction, Antoine Harfouche.
Moreover, the initiative is open to internationally renowned scholars and to individuals who, for at least five years, have held equivalent academic positions at foreign universities or research institutions.
