The master’s degree course in Industrial Biotechnology for Health and Well-being accomplishes the educational offer in biotechnology, especially industrial biotechnology. Industrial biotechnology is a crucial technology for future economic development, and an outstanding importance has been attached to it. The master is highly interdisciplinary with a broad methodological and scientific education.

Students will gain an understanding of the basic principles of discovery and characterization of natural substances rational design, computer modelling, construction, and characterisation of synthetic biology systems and devices development of biomolecular, biocatalytic and microbiological systems to be used in industrial production and services related to human health and well-being.

  • Learning objectives

    To train graduates who are able to design, produce and/or recover bioactive molecules of vegetable, animal, microbial and semi-synthetic origin with cosmetic, cosmeceutical, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical interest, to optimize their biological properties and to characterize them from a chemical, physiological and toxicological point of view, developing their industrial applications.

    Teaching, entrepreneurship, research in public and private laboratories, management and processing of patents regulations, quality control in companies interested in biotechnological innovation. Freelance biologist.

    The Degree Course (CdS) in “Industrial Biotechnology for Health and Wellness” (LM-8) is an interdepartmental master’s degree course (DIBAF and DEB).
