Research grants

The research grant is established by Article 22 of Law No. 240 of December 30, 2010, and serves as a mechanism through which universities can award assignments for conducting research activities to scholars with a suitable scientific and professional background.

Key Features of Research Grants:

• Duration: Grants can last from one to three years and are renewable. However, they cannot be combined with scholarships awarded for any reason, except for those granted by national or foreign institutions that aim to supplement the research activities of the holders with stays abroad.
• Maximum Duration: The total duration of the grant cannot exceed four years, excluding the period in which the grant was held concurrently with a PhD, limited to the maximum legal duration of the respective program.
• Compatibility: The research grant is not compatible with enrollment in degree programs, specialized or master’s degrees, or PhD programs that offer scholarships.
