Science and research Festival

The Science and Research Festival is a science communication initiative consisting of a series of meetings, guided tours, and other activities that also involve direct participation of attendees, focusing on research topics of interest to Unitus.

The idea was born in 2016 to pursue the University’s goals regarding the dissemination of scientific research results and methods (particularly those conducted at the University) and the construction of a stable communication channel on research topics with the local community and citizens, with particular attention to schools (teachers and students) and young people in general.

The event has been adapted and modified over the years based on feedback from participants, stakeholders, and the visibility and content of the events. The name has also undergone evolution: the first edition of the event was referred to as the Science Festival/Science Week and later was called the Viterbo Science Festival, and in 2020, it became The Science and Research Festival.

Since 2017, as part of the event, the European Researchers’ Night has also been held in Viterbo, an initiative supported by the European Commission to make European citizens aware of who conducts research and their work, as well as the benefits and impact of research in everyday life and societal development (https://www.nottedeiricercatori.it/).

Edition 2023

The 2023 edition of the Festival of Science and Research will take place from September 21 to September 30, 2023. Another opportunity to talk about science and research.
