Visit to the Tirreno Power Plant in Torrevaldaliga Sud (Civitavecchia)

On December 12, over 50 students from the University of Tuscia, enrolled in the Environmental Biological Sciences courses of the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences and the Circular Economy courses of the Department of Economics, Engineering, Society, and Business, along with some Erasmus students from the Civitavecchia University Campus, visited the Tirreno Power Plant in Torrevaldaliga Sud for an educational training program as part of the placement initiative. The visit, organized by professors Bruno Mattia Bizzarri and Enrico Maria Mosconi, began with a welcome from Tirreno Power technicians. The technicians explained the operation of a combined cycle power plant, and the students had the opportunity to learn about the various stages of the process, from electricity generation, starting with the procurement of raw materials needed for the plant, to production, environmental monitoring, and the reuse of by-products.

The students showed great participation and interest in the activities conducted at the facilities, from production scheduling, stock management, quality control, and the management of environmental aspects. These activities were carried out by professionals working at the power plant, who informed the students about career opportunities in the sector.
