The Laboratory is equipped with modern scientific equipment used to carry out both research and teaching activities (internships, theses for undergraduates, graduates and PhD students).

The main research areas developed are the following:

• Study of the genetic/molecular and biochemical bases of the technological and nutritional/antinutritional quality of wheat
• Use of classical technologies (crossing, selection) and innovative technologies (TILLING, genetic transformation, genome editing or Assisted Evolution Technologies, TEA) for the genetic improvement of wheat
• Valorisation of wheat genetic resources
• Molecular traceability of wheat products
