Brief Description and Objectives of the Research:

The REMEDIAVI project aims to virtually reconstruct the archaeological site of Volsinii (Bolsena/VT) in 3D and augmented reality. This reconstruction will be based on a solid scientific foundation, developed from the data obtained from the new archaeological excavations conducted by the University of Tuscia. The project will explore suitable combinations of solar cells and batteries (PA) as a green energy supplier for the site’s energy self-sufficiency, which does not involve the installation of an invasive electrical network.

Possible Collaborating Entities and Institutions:

The project is carried out in collaboration with Sapienza University of Rome (PI), the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the province of Viterbo and for Southern Etruria, and the CNR (National Research Council of Italy).

Type of Funding and Call: Amount of funding allocated to the Viterbo unit: 26,703.66 Euros (DTC LAZIO INNOVA). Framework Agreement “Research, Technological Innovation, Telematic Networks” (APQ6) – Section “Implementation of programmatic interventions and new interventions related to the Technology District for new technologies applied to cultural heritage and activities”. Action TE1 – Invitation to the Center of Excellence to submit projects for the second phase.
