Plant Biotechnology Laboratory: In Vitro Tissue Cultures

The laboratory is equipped with the necessary equipment and instrumentation for research activities in vitro cultivation of plants with a focus on genetic improvement, plant propagation, in vitro conservation of genetic resources, and support for teaching (internships, traineeships, final papers, dissertations).

The main research areas developed are as follows:

• optimization of micropropagation technologies,
• organogenesis and somatic embryogenesis,
• induction of polyploidy,
• use of TEA technologies in improvement of fruit tree plants,
• in vitro conservation of genetic resources,
• induction of somaclonal variation.

Research in the laboratory is carried out within doctoral, Masters’ and Bachelors’ theses.
