Cultural heritage management and production

The University of Tuscia’s Museum System plays a central role in the production and management of the university’s cultural assets. Its purpose is to support the promotion, protection, and preservation of the university’s artistic and architectural heritage, as well as all its collections (historical, demo-anthropological, artistic, and scientific).

The Museum System also ensures the proper exhibition of collections and works, making them accessible not only for university education but also for a wider audience, with particular attention to schools of all levels. Periodically, guided tours, meetings, and events are organized in spaces open to the entire community.

Furthermore, the University’s Museum System organizes initiatives aimed at engaging citizens. For example, this year, a series of meetings – “Meetings at the Museum: Six Conferences for Six Collections” – is planned for the months of March and November. These meetings involve the participation of the respective collection managers who will discuss and explain their collections to participants.

Among other Public Engagement activities, the Museum System periodically hosts various types of exhibitions. For example:

In October 2022, the photographic exhibition “Life, Still” by photojournalist Alessio Romenzi was set up. In April 2023, it hosted the exhibition “Embroidering the Future,” produced by the Green Schools Network for sustainability education.
