The Laboratory is equipped with molecular biology tools used to carry out both research and teaching activities (internships, placements, final papers, degree theses).

The main research areas developed are the following:

  • Evaluation of genetic variability and genetic distance between different accessions
  • Phylogenetic genetic analysis of populations.
  • Analysis of the main traits involved in tolerance to abiotic stress. Mainly drought and salt stress.
  • Molecular analysis to characterize plant germplasm and certify its origin.

Recent research projects are:
