The “Orientation upon Entry and in Progress” aims to support students throughout their educational journey.

The entrance orientation service aims to introduce high school students to the department, its educational and research structures, and the Bachelor’s programs it offers.

Initiatives include:

• Presentation of the department’s educational offerings at high schools.
• Seminars and workshops related to the department’s educational and research topics to give students insight into the subjects covered in the Bachelor’s programs.
• Information about entrance exams.
• Assistance to new students with enrollment procedures, access to GOMP and MOODLE portals, and available student services (such as dining halls, student housing, transportation).

The in-progress orientation service aims to support students enrolled in departmental Bachelor’s programs throughout their studies. Objectives include:

• Optimizing learning conditions and quality through advice and support to overcome difficulties.
• Facilitating timely program completion and reducing dropout rates.
• Providing assistance with individual study plans and administrative procedures.
• Helping students make informed decisions regarding Master’s programs.

The orientation service is complemented by tutoring activities carried out by Master’s students and departmental doctoral candidates, selected through university announcements.

What is tutoring?

Tutoring aims to guide and assist students throughout their educational journey. The University of Tuscia’s tutoring service meets the needs for guidance, information, and assistance to enhance students’ learning experiences, reduce dropout rates, shorten study durations, and decrease the number of students exceeding the standard duration of studies. These objectives are achieved through tutoring activities tailored to individual needs and aptitudes.

Who is eligible?

The tutoring service is available to students enrolled in Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.

How to become a tutor?

Periodically, selections are held to award scholarships for tutoring activities based on qualifications. Tutoring activities typically range from 150 to 250 hours, depending on the type of tutoring.

What services are offered?

Tutors promptly provide support and assistance with various matters, including:

• Enrollment procedures.
• Access to student portals.
• Discrepancies between exams taken and those recorded in electronic transcripts.
• Documentation for internships and recognition of internships.
• Individual study plan completion on the portal.
• Handling student requests to administrative offices, competent offices, course presidents, or individual professors.

Regularly enrolled students in Bachelor’s programs who are up to date with their exams are eligible to apply for tutoring positions.
