The Academic Senate is the representative body of the Academic Community and performs normative, consultative, as well as guiding, coordination, and liaison functions for the Departments and other scientific structures and their activities. This includes consultation with the Research Commission, as far as its competence extends.
The Academic Senate is established by the decree of the Rector, and elected members serve a term of four years; the term for Student Representation is biennial and can be renewed only once.

The Academic Senate, established by Rector’s Decree no. 67 of 17 February 2025, pursuant to Article 11 of the University Statute, and supplemented by Rector’s Decree no. 133 of 2 March 2026, for the four-year term 2025–2029, is composed as follows:
At the meetings of the Academic Senate, the Director General also participates without the right to vote, and their presence does not contribute to the quorum.
