The MSc Course gives to the graduates depth and specialized knowledge and skills relating to both crops and livestock production. These are aimed at the design and management of innovations in qualitative and quantitative agricultural production, through a systemic approach, by combining knowledge and biological needs with farms and landscape resources, technical means and environmental sustainability.
The common basic teachings address the topics of research methodology in agriculture, innovations and management of agricultural and livestock systems, sustainable strategies in crops protection, obtaining quality plant products, agricultural policies, management of agricultural enterprises and investment analysis, agricultural mechanization, rural landscape planning and job safety in agriculture in their innovative aspects.
The course trains graduates with in-depth and specialized knowledge and skills on vegetable and zootechnical production, to design and manage the innovation of qualitative and quantitative agricultural production with a systemic approach, combining biological knowledge and needs with corporate and territorial resources, technical means and environmental sustainability. The teachings deal with the themes of innovation, management and research of agricultural and livestock systems, and territorial systems in broad meanings including economic and managerial ones, territorial-environmental safety and work.
The MSc course in “Agriculture and Environmental Science” is structured in two curricula.

Graduates in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences can access to training schools and PhD programmes.
Specialized knowledge and skills can be enhanced through the curricula:
The course has a common basis and three specialised profiles: the common basis are focussed on the research methodology in agriculture, the innovation and management of agricultural and livestock systems, sustainable strategies aimed at protecting crops, the development of quality plant products, business management and investment analysis, agricultural mechanization, regional safety and setup and work safety in their most innovative aspects.
The development of specialised knowledge and competences happens in the second year with:
a cultivation profile; students learn how to obtain quality products, improve genetics, horticultural crops, fruit crops and viticulture;
a territorial financial profile; students acquire knowledge about the optimisation of regional planning, job safety in agriculture and economics rural development policies;
a livestock profile; students learn how to optimize forage production and conservation, gain knowledge on food science and techniques in livestock management and on the quality of animal products.
