The Geobotany lab deals with spatial patterns and drivers of plant species richness; plant bioindication for environmental monitoring; mapping of plant communities and Habitats of Community Interest (Directive 92/43/EEC); phytogeography and taxonomy of vascular plants and bryophytes; conservation of plant communities and plant landscape; dissemination of vegetation ecology concepts to the public.

The equipment available includes: microscopes and stereoscopes for the determination of vascular plants and bryophytes; ROV for the exploration of submerged vegetation; instrumentation for field survey of plant communities and vegetation mapping in a GIS environment; floras and monographs in various languages ​​for the determination of samples.

Students are hosted for the preparation of theses and in the frame of post-graduate scholarships.
