Artificial Intelligence for Business and Cyber Security

The master’s degree aims to train a highly specialized profile capable of governing opportunities and risks of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence technologies by declining them in highly innovative organizations and finalizing them for business innovation and security. This is a highly qualified profile that will present itself on the market with multidisciplinary skills that will put it in a position to respond to the growing demand from companies for people connected to the data transformation chain.

 

The master’s program is designed and organized as a service of higher education for second-level graduates in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, and Economics. It is delivered entirely in English at the University of Tuscia in Viterbo (VT), alternating face-to-face lectures and distance learning. In addition to face-to-face lectures, “late night” lectures consisting of evening meetings in an informal setting with experts in artificial intelligence applications from different domains and application areas such as healthcare, public administration, logistics, mechanics will also be delivered.

 

The master’s training program is divided into four areas named respectively: Inception, Portfolio, Risk & Security, and Application.

 

  • The Inception area will provide students with the necessary overview of current and future trends in the digital transformation process, starting from the digitization of business processes to their reengineering through the adoption of advanced digital technologies, flexible and smart forms of automation.

 

  • The Portfolio area will provide students with the theoretical and applied knowledge needed to master artificial intelligence technologies, particularly in relation to conceptual data modeling, tools for analyzing big data, and technologies for implementing cognitive services.

 

  • The Risk & Security area will address the privacy, security, and ethics aspects of big data and artificial intelligence, with particular reference also to the use of these tools and technologies for applications to business processes that ensure high levels of reliability, confidentiality, and availability.

 

  • Finally, the Application area will address application scenarios in real-world contexts related to the use of machine learning for securing product and process innovations in organizations.

 

The Master’s training program is organized into eight modules divided into the four areas as described below.

 

Part 1 – Inception

  • Modulo I Digital Transformation in Business Organizations: from digitalization to smart and lean production

 

Part 2 – Artificial Intelligence Technology Portfolio

  • Modulo II  Data Modeling, Big Data Analysis and Tools
  • Modulo III  Machine Learning
  • Modulo IV  Natural Language Processing
  • Modulo V  Deep Learning

 

Parte 3 – Risk & Security

  • Modulo VI Risks, Privacy, and Ethics of Big Data Governance
  • Modulo VII Challenges and risks of artificial intelligence: bias, bubbles, fakes and deep fakes

 

Parte 4 – Application

  • Modulo VIII Machine learning applications for cyber secure business innovations

 

Each module will be divided into specific lectures for a total of 6 CFUs per module. In addition to the 48 CFUs delivered in lectures and laboratories, 12 CFUs will be added in project activities in the form of project work, internships and apprenticeships, carried out in close contact with companies.
