The course allows to acquire advanced knowledge in the field of forest planning, environmental and landscape planning and management, conservation of biodiversity and nature, and a thorough awareness of dynamic evolution of forest and landscape systems as well as of the ecological processes that give rise to the diversity of ecosystems.
The course has two paths: Biodiversity Monitoring and Conservation and Environment Management and Restoration. First level graduates in Forestry Sciences, in Environmental Sciences and Natural Sciences can find a logical completion of their preparation in this second cycle degree course. Students of this course share several abilities with environmental engineers and landscape architects.
The course allows to acquire advanced knowledge to operate, also at managerial and coordination level, in the field of forest planning, environmental and landscape planning and management, conservation of biodiversity and nature, and in all those sectors which require a thorough knowledge of the phenomena of dynamic evolution of forest and landscape systems, as well as of the ecological processes responsible for the diversity of ecosystems.
This is an important specialisation course for first level graduates in Forestry Sciences and for graduates in Environmental Sciences and Natural Sciences, since these graduates do not always have the opportunity of using their competences to the full.
Branches of scientific research, public institutions (CUFA, Ministries, Regions), local authorities, parks and nature reserves, museums, environmental consultancy, environmental and landscape design and restoration companies, wood industries.
Graduates could also work in teaching and research. Alter three years from the degree, the ISTAT employment rate for second degree course CRAF graduates was 90% (Almalaurea data, 2015).

The course is organised in two curricula:
Students who wish to enrol on this degree course must possess specific minimum requirements, Students are required to undertake an interview aimed at ensuring they possess the appropriate prerequisites. The interview committee will be formed by a minimum of three course professors. Students are required to have a minimum of 30 CFUs in the scientific disciplinary sectors: MAT/01- 09, CHIM/06, CHIM/03, BI0/03, AGR/05, AGR/07 e AGR/13. During the interview, the student’s knowledge of English will also be assessed. Students must have at least a B2 CEFR level.
