The Fruit Growing Laboratory is a facility featuring with scientific equipment and various workstations used to carry out research activities (sample preparation, biometric measurements and pomological characterisations, qualitative analyses) and to support teaching (exercises, internships, final papers, dissertations).

The main areas of research developed are as follows:

• Pomological characterisation of fresh fruit and carpological characterisation of nuts for quanti-qualitative evaluations associated with innovations in fruit tree cultivation techniques.
• Preparation of extracts and samples from plant matrices using traditional and innovative techniques for performing quanti-qualitative analyses, mainly associated with the recovery and enhancement of fruit biodiversity.
• Biometric and ecophysiological surveys of plant matrices, tissues and organs for phenotyping activities of cultivars, accessions and genotypes of fruit crops.
