I am a marine ecologist, broadly interested in the dynamics and conservation of marine benthic communities. I am currently working, as PhD student at University of Tuscia, on the rehabilitation of biodiversity of coralligenous bioconstructions in the seabed of Civitavecchia. Furthermore, I am extending my research
interests in studying Posidonia oceanica distribution, benthic communities, habitat restoration techniques and their practical applications.

The PhD project involves the development of a restoration protocol to mitigate the phenomenon of loss of the coralligenous habitat present in the seabed in front of Civitavecchia, considering what is described in literature and gaining new information in the area of study. The restoration protocol will exclusively involve the transplantation of organisms from the local bycatch, without affecting the natural populations. This protocol will be integrated during the activities of the
RENOVATE project (Ecosystem Approach to  theEvaluation and Experimentation of Compensation and Mitigation Actions in the Marine Environment: the case of the Port Hub of Civitavecchia). Furthermore, an accurate monitoring activity will be carried out, during which useful technologies will be used acquire detailed information to evaluate the effect of events, such as heat waves, which can cause changes in the composition of the coralligenous community.
