Personal profile and research interests
Electronic engineer holding a masters in the area of electronic instrumentation from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC), México. I worked for several years at the Division of Oceanology of Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE), México, and I have acquired a strong experience in the design, integration and installation of oceanographic and meteorological instrumentation.
My research activity is mainly focused in the design and development of new technologies for environmental research purposes such as oceanographic or climatological phenomena monitoring and observing. Now I am also part of the Advanced Observing System research unit within the GIObal Coastal Ocean Division (GOCO) division at the CMCC.
PhD project
The doctoral project aims to develop low cost technologies that can contribute to current knowledge on storm surges and extreme events and their impacts on coastal areas and the transition zones. The goal is to develop a useful tool, easily accessible and integrated into different types of platforms as part of an early warning system to obtain information on physical conditions and biological variables in timely manner.
