Emanuele Blasi

Emanuele Blasi is an Associate Professor of Agricultural and Food Economics at the University of Tuscia, within the Department for Innovation in Biological, Agro-food and Forest Systems (DIBAF). His research focuses on the economic relationships among actors in agri-food systems, the diffusion dynamics of eco-innovation practices, and rural development. He is actively involved in research initiatives aimed at assessing and evaluating the impacts of agricultural and environmental policies at the farm, companies, and community levels. Professor Blasi’s professional expertise includes consultancy for companies, government agencies, and NGOs. His main areas of research and consultancy include: - Design and optimization of new business models to promote the adoption of sustainable and equitable practices among stakeholders in the agri-food and forestry value chains. - Assessment of food losses and waste throughout the agri-food value chain, and evaluations to identify barriers and enabling factors for valorisation practices within a circular economy framework. - Economics evaluations and investment analysis for agri-food and bio-based value chain, including cost-benefit assessments related to the proposal/adoption of sustainable innovative practices by public and private sector. He has led research projects funded by both public and private institutions. He participates in national projects financed by the Italian Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and several Regional Authorities. At the European level, he is involved in projects funded under Horizon 2020, LIFE+, the Agroecology Co-funded Partnership, and the PRIMA programme.
