  • PhD project

His doctoral research is set within the regulatory framework of the European Green Deal and aims to investigate the “No Net Land Take by 2050” goal from a legal perspective. The problem of land take is mainly related to the political-administrative discretion of municipalities in exercising their urban planning power. In order to limit the discretion of municipalities, it is necessary to act on three axes. Firstly, it is necessary to examine regional spatial government regulations in order to identify models and forms to limit land take. Secondly, it is necessary to investigate the town planning model in order to verify which corrective measures are needed to limit land take. Thirdly, it is necessary to strengthen the legitimacy of appeals to protect the interest in limiting land take, with particular attention to the role played by recognised environmental associations.
