  • Personal profile and research interests

As a forest graduate and a researcher, my fundamental interests are environmental data modelling, analysis, and forest-climate interactions through satellite imagery.

  • PhD project

The role of forests in mitigating extreme climate conditions has been widely recognised. Detecting old growth remnants is a key factor in achieving the Agenda 2030 goals. To reach these, this study implements a remote sensing approach. The methodology consists in searching for appropriate predictors to use in a classification non parametric model. Every predictor is obtained from open source platforms or public data, and can undergo further processing. Expert’s knowledge and ground truths allow validation of both predictors and model output. Multiple models will be tested.
