Departments

Departments, equipped with their own regulations approved by the Departmental Council based on a standard model approved by the University’s governing bodies, develop a three-year research activity plan and plan the activities to be carried out in a coherent manner. They propose the teaching program and the related modifications of the Study programmes as well as the activation of PhD programs. They have organizational and administrative autonomy and define the use of the allocated financial resources, subject to consistency with the general criteria indicated in the University’s documents.

To implement their policies and strategies for training, research, innovation, and social development, Departments may enter into collaboration agreements, the results of which they constantly monitor, with economic, social, and cultural actors, both public and private, in their local, national, and international context of reference.

In order to implement, monitor, and review their activities, Departments must equip themselves with a Governance System and a functional organization to implement their strategies on the quality of teaching, research, and third mission/social impact, also defining a programming of the work carried out by the technical-administrative staff, accompanied by responsibilities and objectives, consistent with the strategic planning and the effectiveness of which is periodically verified. This Governance System must be consistent with the indications and guidelines developed by the University Quality Committee.
