AperiLIS

An aperitif for connection and inclusion, where participants will have the opportunity to discover LIS – Italian Sign Language – and Deaf culture.

For several years, ENS SP of Viterbo and the University of Tuscia have been collaborating with the goal of raising awareness around deafness and breaking down the invisible barriers to communication, contributing to the creation of a more cohesive and inclusive society.

The event, part of the European Erasmus+ ISENSE project, stems from the desire to promote communication in all its forms, with special attention to Sign Language. It offers a chance to share a convivial moment while enjoying a spritz or a non-alcoholic beverage accompanied by snacks. But the experience will go beyond taste: it will be an opportunity to explore communication not through traditional spoken language, but through signs, music, vibrations, and games.

The initiative, open to both Deaf and hearing participants, aims to create a shared experience in a relaxed and stimulating setting. Guided by Deaf individuals and interpreters, attendees will have the chance to discover and experiment with this unique language.

The event will be fully accessible to both Deaf and hearing participants, thanks to simultaneous ITA/LIS interpreting.

Participants will also be able to experience the virtual reality environments developed within the ISENSE project.
