Stefano Borocci graduated with honours in Chemistry in May 1997 and obtained a PhD in Chemical Sciences in December 2000. He carried out research periods at ETH Zurich and at the Institute of Biomedicine in Helsinki. Since 2002, he has been involved in research and teaching activities at University of Tuscia in Viterbo. Since 2017, he has been an Associate Professor in the SSD CHIM/07 – Chemical Foundations of Technologies. Professor Borocci’s research mainly focuses on the study of biomolecular systems using ab initio theoretical calculations, Density Functional Theory (DFT), and molecular dynamics simulations, with particular emphasis on membrane models, antimicrobial peptides, and membrane proteins.
