My research interests focus around proximate mechanisms of vertebrates responses to habitat changes. I got a PhD in Biology at the University of Antwerp carrying out a project on the physiological mechanisms underlying population abundance variation due to forest selective logging in tropical birds of Borneo. After a short postdoc at the University of Antwerp, I joined the University of Tuscia. Here, I am carrying out a project on the physiological mechanisms underlying the developmental response of amphibians to heatwaves, and a project on the impacts of tropical forest selective logging on birds movement and genetic diversity. I also collaborate on eco-physiological projects involving European kestrel, roller and scops owl between the urban area of Rome and the rural landscape of Tuscia.
