Simona Picchietti

Simona Picchietti is Chair of the Master’s Degree Programme in Industrial Biotechnology for Health and Well-being. Her research focuses on comparative immunology and biotechnology applied to animal health, with particular emphasis on the fish immune system. She studies interactions between nutrition, pathogens and immune responses, environmental effects on animal health, and prevention and vaccination strategies for sustainable aquaculture. She coordinates national and international research projects and collaborates with universities, research institutions and industry partners. She has authored over 80 Scopus-indexed publications (h-index 36). She supervises students and PhD candidates and serves on the Editorial Boards of international journals.
