At the Laboratory of Neurotrophic Factors and Neurodegenerative Diseases at the EBRI Institute-Fondazione Rita Levi Montalcini and the Laboratory of Functional Anatomy and Developmental Biology at the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences of the University of Tuscia Viterbo, the cellular processes underlying neuronal differentiation were investigated, using as cellular models both murine embryonic neuronal cultures of the central and peripheral nervous system and tumor cell cultures capable of differentiating into nervous system cells. Using cellular and molecular biology techniques used in past experiences, it was seen that neuronal differentiation, and the elongation of dendrites and axons, depend on translation.
