Laura Bertini has dedicated her research activity to the study of molecular mechanisms underlying plant response to (a)biotic stresses through the integration of biochemical, molecular and -omics techniques. In addition to the study of plants of agronomic interest, she has started a new line of research on plants adapted to extreme environments (Antarctica, Arctic) whose adaptation to climate change, response to different environmental stressors, and the associated microbial community are being studied, evaluating the possible biotechnological exploitation of isolated microorganisms. Involved in 23 National/European projects including 6 as PI/Research Unit Head. Published 46 scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals (H-index 20, cit. 1293).
