    • Bio
    • Prof. Francesco Sestili is Associate Professor of Agricultural Genetics in the DAFNE Department. In November 2022, he was appointed President of the University Quality Assurance Presidium. His research focuses on wheat genetic improvement, particularly in developing high-nutritional-value wheat varieties (durum and bread wheat) biofortified with resistant starch, provitamin A, and micronutrients, as well as high-yielding varieties, and on the traceability of cereal supply chains. Prof. Sestili is co-holder (50%) with Grandi Molini Italiani S.p.A. of Italian patent no. 102022000008315, dated April 27, 2022, for the invention entitled 'Wheat mutant plant with a reduced content of phytic acid'
