Cristina Muru is an Associate Professor in Linguistics and Glottology (SSD GLOT-01/A, formerly L-LIN701) at the University of Tuscia, where she took up her post in 2012. She graduated in Modern Languages and Cultures in 2004 and received her PhD in 2009 from Sapienza University of Rome. Twice research fellow at Tuscia and post-doctoral fellow at CICT in Chennai, India. Specialising in the Tamil language, her main areas of research include missionary linguistics, history of language science, language contact, and historical sociolinguistics. External collaborator and member in several national and international projects.
