      • Research fields
        • Valorization of residual biomass and organic waste through thermochemical conversion processes (hydrothermal carbonization, pyrolysis, combustion) with optimization of operating conditions and product properties.
        • Characterization and modeling of conversion processes by means of compositional, thermal, kinetic and thermodynamic analyses, experimental design, multicriteria optimization and predictive models.
        • Integrated valorization of biochar, hydrochar and process water for the production of biofuels, hydrogen, bioproducts and functional materials, according to circular economy approaches.
        • Assessment of the sustainability of processes and supply chains through Life Cycle Assessment, mass and energy balances, technical-economic analysis, circularity indicators and multi-criteria methods as decision-support tools.
