Science and Technology for Sport Performance

The Master’s Degree Programme in Sports Performance Sciences and Technologies (LM-68) trains professionals capable of designing, monitoring and optimising sports performance through the integration of sport and exercise sciences, innovative technologies and scientific research.

Throughout the programme, students acquire advanced skills in physical preparation, functional assessment, performance analysis, injury prevention, return-to-sport training and the use of the latest technologies for performance monitoring.

The approach is strongly practice-oriented: through numerous Technical and Practical Activities (ATP) and opportunities to undertake internships with sports federations, professional clubs, companies and organisations operating in the sector, students can apply the knowledge acquired in real-world settings and develop skills that are immediately valuable in the labour market.

A distinctive feature of the programme is its focus on sports activities in natural environments, with particular attention to safety, risk management and sustainability.

Candidates may take part in the selection process provided that, by the deadline of the chosen admission session, they hold the required qualification and meet the curricular requirements set out in the call for applications.

The following qualifications are considered fully relevant:

Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences, degree class L-22, pursuant to Ministerial Decree No. 270/2004;
Bachelor’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences, degree class 33, pursuant to Ministerial Decree No. 509/1999;
ISEF Diploma or Physical Education Diploma recognised as equivalent under current legislation;
a qualification obtained abroad and deemed suitable by the competent University bodies.

Candidates holding degrees in classes other than L-22 or class 33 must have obtained at least:

12 CFU credits in the biomedical field;
28 CFU credits in the sport and exercise sciences field;
4 CFU credits in the psychological and educational field.

raduates will be able to work in sports clubs, federations, athletic training centres, functional assessment laboratories, fitness and wellness centres, sport-tech companies, public and private organisations involved in promoting physical activity, and organisations operating in the outdoor and sports tourism sectors.

The programme provides a solid foundation for continuing one’s academic and professional development through PhD programmes, second-level university master’s programmes, advanced training courses, qualification pathways established under current legislation, and national and international professional certifications.

The programme was established through a collaboration between the University of Tuscia and the University of Rome 4 “Foro Italico”.

The curriculum features a strong practical component, the use of advanced technologies, specialist laboratories, internships with sports clubs and companies, partnerships with the sports sector, and international mobility opportunities.
