The Final Conference of the Research Project of Relevant National Interest (PRIN) 2/2022 on “Community Sponsorship for Migrants in Europe” (CoSME) will take place on 24-25 November 2025 in the Rectorate’s Great Hall (Aula Magna) at the University of Tuscia in Viterbo, Italy.
The Conference, entitled “Towards a Genetic Transformation of Asylum? Legal Pathways and Community Sponsorship: Between Protection and Containment”, comprises three thematic sessions dedicated to the case studies explored by PRIN CoSME, two keynote speeches, one by Elspeth Guild (University of Liverpool), and one by Paula Garcia Andrade (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid), a session hosting the launch of the CoSME book, as well as an institutional brainstorming session with representatives from the European Union Asylum Agency and from national and international institutions and stakeholders.
The Conference will also host two associated initiatives. Firstly, there will be a Multistakeholder Roundtable on Community Sponsorship, organised by the AMIF Share QSN Plus project, and a Digital Exhibition entitled “Women Who Move: A Tribute to Women’s Strength on 25/11” to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
To participate, please register by 20 November 2025.
Students enrolled on the Master’s Degree Programmes in Law and Security and Human Rights at the DIKE Department will receive 2 ECTS for participating in this event.
