Our Rector in China for the 14th Italy–China Week of Science, Technology and Innovation

The 14th Edition of the Italy–China Week of Science, Technology and Innovation took place today in Beijing at the prestigious Zhongguancun Exhibition Center. The annual event is promoted by Città della Scienza in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST).

The event represents a key platform for cooperation between Italy and China in research, higher education, and technological innovation. The week opened with the Science Festival inauguration, attended by Italian Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini and Chinese Vice Minister of Science and Technology Zhang Guangjun.

During the event, the Executive Protocol of Scientific and Technological Cooperation for 2024–2025 was renewed, launching ten joint research projects in strategic areas such as agriculture and food sciences, artificial intelligence applied to cultural heritage, physics and astrophysics, green energy, and biomedicine.

Our Rector participated in the opening ceremony and in the Italy–China University Rectors’ Forum, a key moment of dialogue between Italian and Chinese academic leaders on research collaboration and innovation.

Minister Bernini highlighted how international scientific cooperation and science diplomacy are essential tools to address global challenges, promoting collaboration based on transparency, reciprocity, and mutual benefit.

The University’s participation in this important international event underlines its commitment to research internationalization and its active role in the global dialogue on innovation, sustainability, and scientific development.
