UnitusTalent: the University of Tuscia launches the fifth edition of its program to attract top international academic talent

The University of Tuscia is relaunching UnitusTalent, its strategic program – now in its fifth edition- designed to attract outstanding scholars currently working abroad in research and teaching positions.
The initiative aims to strengthen the University’s scientific excellence and further develop its international profile by offering positions as full professors, associate professors, and fixed-term researchers through a direct call procedure.

UnitusTalent targets academics with proven experience in international contexts, including recipients of prestigious grants and fellowships funded by the European Union (ERC, MSCA), the Italian Ministry of University and Research (Rita Levi Montalcini, FIS, FISA), and major international scientific organizations (HFSPO, EMBO). The program is also open to internationally renowned scholars and academics who have held equivalent positions in foreign universities or research institutions for at least five years.

Since its launch in 2021, the program has enabled the University to recruit twelve top-level scholars from renowned universities and research centers, significantly enhancing the international standing of the University of Tuscia.

“UnitusTalent is one of the strategic tools our University uses to promote the internationalization of teaching and research,” said Rector Stefano Ubertini. “Through this call, we aim to attract the best academic talent from around the world, fostering merit and supporting scientific innovation. This initiative contributes to improving the overall performance of the University and strengthening our role within the national higher education system.”

Approved by the University’s Board of Directors on 15 July 2025, the new call reaffirms Unitus’ commitment to building an open, dynamic academic environment that fosters collaboration with leading scientific institutions worldwide.

“With UnitusTalent, we are building a bridge between the University of Tuscia and the global research community,” said Antoine Harfouche, Rector’s delegate for talent attraction. “Our goal is to bring the best minds to our university cities, enriching not only the University but also the local area through new skills, perspectives, and visions.”
Expressions of interest must be submitted within 60 days from the publication date of the notice on the University’s official register, by sending an email to talent@unitus.it.
