The prize, worth €1,000, was established at the request of Mr. Luca Laureti to honour the memory of Mrs. Brigida Palelli, librarian at the University’s Technical-Scientific Library Hub and student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, who passed away prematurely. The award aims to promote academic excellence and scientific research in the biological field, reflecting Mrs. Palelli’s dedication to knowledge and to the academic community.
This year, the prestigious prize will be awarded to Dr. Sofia Grimani, who graduated with a Master’s degree in Food and Human Nutrition Sciences, and distinguished herself with a thesis entitled “Nutritional and Antioxidant Evaluation of a Functional Food Based on Tomato Processing By-Products.” Dr. Grimani carried out her research under the supervision of Dr. Lara Costantini.
The ceremony will be opened by the Director of the Department, followed by a brief address from Mrs. Palelli’s family. During the event, the awardee will deliver a 20-minute presentation illustrating the main results of her thesis project and the scientific implications of her work.
The ceremony is an important opportunity to celebrate excellence in academic research and the achievements of the University’s most outstanding students. Participation is open to all.
