International workshop | Climate, landscape and human impact in Italy during the Etruscan period

25 May 2026 / 27 May 2026

From 25 to 27 May 2026, the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Pisa will host an international workshop on the interactions between human communities and the environment in Central Tyrrhenian Italy during the Early Iron Age (ca. 1000–500 BCE). The event brings together paleoclimatologists, paleobotanists, archaeologists, and historians to investigate the relationships between ancient societies and their environmental context.

The Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences (DEB) of the University of Tuscia participates in the event as a partner, with the involvement of Gianluca Piovesan, member of the scientific committee, and Jordan Palli, member of the organising committee.

Participation in the workshop is free. Interested contributors can submit their proposals by 13 February 2026; acceptance notifications will be communicated by 6 March 2026.

For further information and to submit a scientific contribution, please consult the official website.
