Hybridization and Evolutionary Success: From Insects to Humans | Prof. Giuseppe Nascetti

9 May 2025 - 10:30 / 12:30

As part of the course in General and Population Ecology, taught by Prof. Roberta Bisconti, Prof. Giuseppe Nascetti, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences (DEB), will deliver a seminar lecture entitled: “Hybridization and Evolutionary Success: From Insects to Humans.”

The event will takes place on Friday, May 9th, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, at the Great Hall of the University Campus in Civitavecchia. The seminar will also be available via live streaming thanks to the collaboration with Porta Futuro Lazio (PFL).

This lecture offers an important opportunity to explore one of the most significant — yet still largely underexplored — eco-evolutionary processes underlying the emergence of new species: hybridization. The topic will be addressed through a series of case studies spanning the entire animal kingdom.

Participation is open to undergraduate and graduate students from the DEB degree programs, PhD students in Ecology and Sustainable Management of Environmental Resources, and to all those interested.

To receive the access link for the online session, registration via the PFL portal is required.
