      • Emanuele Pallozzi is a technologist at the Institute of Research on Terrestrial Ecosystems National Council of Research. He graduated in 2007 in Biology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" with a thesis on the splicing of RNA transfer and He took the PhD in Forest Ecology in 2012 at the Tuscia University in Viterbo, shifting his main topics to plant physiology, focusing on gas exchanges between biosphere and atmosphere, both in the laboratory under manipulative conditions and in the field, in different natural environments. In 2018 He got a permanent position as a technologist. He gained technical experience with many analytical techniques like gas-chromatography (GC-MS), proton transfer reaction mass-spectrometry (PTR-MS, PTR-TOF-MS) and Eddy covariance, for studying Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) emission and pollutants removal operated by plants, from leaf to ecosystem scale. From 2012 to 2018 He has been involved in the construction, management, and data analyses of the EC Tower set in the urban park of Capodimonte in the middle of the city of Naples, where He also studied the plants’ role in air quality and PM removal. He was also involved in OT4Clima and Serv4Fire projects, studying the VOC and PM emissions from wildfires. His scientific activity in the last years includes several experimental campaigns, among which physiological measurements on higher plants in the arctic tundra, eddy covariance in urban forests, VOC measurements by aircraft and analysis on bioreactors and aircraft biofuels. During his work experience, He developed good international contacts with researchers from different countries, producing papers regarding PM fluxes and validation of models on particulate removal together with USDA Forest Service (USA) and KIT/IMK-IFU (Germany). He has also collaborated with Czechglobe Institute (Czech Republic) in the bilateral CNR-CAS (2013–2015) programme, gaining experience in different techniques to determine gas exchanges between the biosphere and atmosphere.Since He took his PhD in 2012, the research of Emanuele Pallozzi produced 28 peer-reviewed papers, a Scopus h-index of 14 and 462 citations.
