On December 12 and 13, two “open lectures” will address highly topical issues in the forestry sector.<\/p>\n

The first lecture, titled\u00a0“Tools for Biomechanics and Tree Stability Assessment”<\/strong>, will take place on\u00a0December 12 at 9:00 AM<\/b>\u00a0in Room 11 of the Riello Campus of Agricultural Sciences. It will also be available via live streaming on Zoom upon registration at this\u00a0link<\/a>. The lecture, delivered by Forest Expert Ivano Sferrazza, will focus on the main challenges related to tree stability, with particular emphasis on distinguishing between risk and hazard in the arboreal context. Key concepts will be explored, highlighting the differences between these two factors and their impact on urban tree management. Additionally, the lecture will showcase the primary technical tools available for assessing tree stability, providing an overview of practical applications and the most innovative approaches in the field.<\/p>\n

The second open lecture will be held on\u00a0December 13 at 11:00 AM<\/strong>, also in Room 11, and will focus on\u00a0“Nature Restoration Law and Environmental Protection: Strategies for Restoring and Protecting Ecosystems.”<\/strong>\u00a0This lecture will be delivered by Dr. Valerio Di Stefano from CREA and Dr. Cristina Cipriano from CMCC and can be followed live online upon registration at this\u00a0link<\/a>. The lecture will delve into the principles and objectives of the Nature Restoration Law, examining its role in environmental protection and the restoration of degraded ecosystems. Practical implications of the regulation will be discussed, alongside opportunities for biodiversity conservation and contributions to achieving global climate goals. A special focus will be placed on European implementation strategies and tools available to promote sustainable and environmentally respectful development.<\/p>\n
