SUMMARY:Let's breathe together against anxiety | Free Yoga Course
DESCRIPTION:Exam anxiety is a specific form of performance anxiety that occurs in situations involving evaluation or judgment by others. To support students in managing this condition\, the PROBEN project (Promotion of Well-being) has been developed\, funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR). \n\n\n\nAs part of this project\, the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences\, in collaboration with the Saraswati Association of Viterbo\, offers “LET’S BREATHE TOGETHER AGAINST ANXIETY”\, a free YOGA program open to all students enrolled in bachelor’s\, master’s and PhD programs\, as well as research fellows and grant holders from all Departments. \nThe program is based on the discipline of Yoga\, considered a tool for restoring balance and promoting connection with oneself\, others\, and the environment. The sessions will introduce techniques applicable to academic and everyday contexts. \nThe program will take place at the University Sports Center (CUS) in Viterbo and will begin with an introductory meeting scheduled for the September 8\, 2025\, at 10:30 a.m.\, in Room 5 (Block B\, Riello Campus). Registration is required through the following Google Form:https://forms.gle/s5nMKDijDprWXKtW7 \nThe full program consists of 10 sessions\, scheduled three times a week—Monday\, Wednesday\, and Friday—from Wednesday\, September 10 to Wednesday\, October 1. To accommodate all participants\, several one-hour time slots will be available in the morning. \nA total of 80 spots are available. DESCRIPTION:Applications are officially open for the Summer School “Ecological Restoration and the Nature Restoration Regulation”\, a free training opportunity promoted by the National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC) and the University of Genoa\, with the support of the Italian Network for Ecological Restoration (RIRE) and the NbS Italy Hub. Among the members of the scientific committee is Professor Chiara Baldacchini\, lecturer in Physics at the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences and deputy coordinator of the Hub. \nThe initiative will take place in Genoa from 8th to 12th September 2025 and is aimed at professionals in the field\, staff of public or private institutions\, as well as recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in environmental sustainability and applied ecology. The course aims to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the implementation of the Nature Restoration Regulation across urban\, rural\, and marine contexts. The programme includes lectures\, field excursions\, and interactive workshops led by experts\, researchers\, and specialized faculty members. \nParticipation is free of charge and limited to a maximum of 40 selected candidates. This transformation\, or rather transition\, is aligned with the path outlined by the new PNIEC\, and it fully involves the worlds of production\, services\, and households. Such a situation calls for a new approach\, in which productivity and economic growth must be reconciled with the goals of environmental sustainability\, social inclusion\, and energy transition. RSE’s contribution will focus on assessing the role of the agri-food sector\, across its various supply chains\, in achieving decarbonization targets. \n The webinar is part of the training project “Towards Green Horizons”\, organized within the framework of the excellence project D.I.Ve.r.So.\nThe Order of Agronomists and Foresters of Viterbo will grant 0.25 Professional Training Credits (CFP) for each seminar; the Territorial College of Graduate Agricultural Experts of the Province of Rome will grant 2 CFP per seminar; the National College of Agrotechnicians will also grant 2 CFP per seminar.\nThe training project counts toward the annual 40-hour training performance target outlined in the Directive of the Minister for Public Administration dated January 16\, 2025. SUMMARY:Postponed to 12/09 | THE WALKING DEB 4.0: A day discovering natural sciences
DESCRIPTION:EDIT: Due to adverse weather conditions\, the event originally scheduled for Wednesday\, September 10\, has been postponed to Friday\, September 12. \nThe Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences (DEB) is back in action with the fourth edition of its scientific trekking event. On Friday\, September 12\, faculty members from the Bachelor’s Degree in Natural and Environmental Sciences will guide participants through the ancient beech forest of Monte Raschio\, a UNESCO World Heritage site\, located in the area of Lake Bracciano. The meeting point is set for 10:30 AM at the Oriolo Romano (VT) train station. \nThe nature trail winds along the edges of the Sabatini Volcanic District. During the hike\, participants will explore the geological\, botanical\, zoological\, and ecological features of the area\, fostering dialogue and direct observation of the landscape and the biodiversity that define this unique environment. \nA dedicated educational session will explore career prospects for young people in the field of environmental and natural sciences\, with a focus on emerging professions in biodiversity conservation and environmental monitoring. \nThis event\, primarily designed for students interested in exploring university and career options in the fields of nature and the environment\, is under the patronage of the Bracciano Martignano Regional Natural Park and Municipality of Oriolo Romano. It is free of charge and open to everyone\, with a maximum of 50 participants. Trekking attire is required\, and participants must bring their packed lunch. The organizers will provide educational materials and a souvenir gift from the day. \nRegistration is open until September 11th\, 2025. The initiative\, organized by the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences\, will take place in Viterbo on September 18-19\, 2025\, at the Riello Campus laboratories (Largo dell’Università\, snc). \nComeToDEB aims to provide participants with the foundational knowledge to understand\, analyze\, and interpret complex biological systems by integrating molecular biology\, genomics\, proteomics\, and bioinformatics. The approach is highly interdisciplinary\, promoting a systemic view of biological processes. Throughout the course\, participants will have the opportunity to explore omics sciences through hands-on laboratory activities and high-throughput data analysis\, acquiring essential skills to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying life. \nThe course is structured into two daily modules\, each lasting three hours\, running from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM\, for a total of 12 training hours. Participation is free\, and places are limited to 20 participants. Selection will be based on the motivation expressed in the application and the candidate’s undergraduate degree background. \nRegistration is mandatory via the online form available at https://forms.gle/tz1MN2cPdr9AxZCq9. DESCRIPTION:On September 22\, at the “Carlo Azeglio Ciampi” Auditorium and the Aula Magna\, the University of Tuscia will host two sessions dedicated to theatrical expression and the PROBEN project\, with the aim of fostering inclusion and the well-being of the academic community. \nThe morning will be devoted to “Theatrical Expression for Inclusion and Psycho-Physical Well-Being”\, featuring contributions from UNITUS faculty members\, experts\, and students engaged in workshops and theatrical performances as tools for personal and collective growth. \nIn the afternoon\, the session “PROBEN – For the Well-Being of the University Community” will present experiences\, best practices\, and initiatives from UNITUS departments to promote psychological\, relational\, and physical well-being through counseling\, cultural mediation\, physical activity\, and innovative technologies. \nThe initiative is part of the Science Week and reaffirms the University’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment attentive to the well-being of its community. \nProgramma I e II sessione \n\nPro-Ben is a project funded by the Ministry of Research\, aimed at developing a unified and shared model to promote the psycho-physical well-being of the university community\, with a focus on reducing the psychological distress of students during their university years and throughout their personal growth and self-determination journey. \nThe project is coordinated by the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and involves eight different universities and AFAM institutions\, including the University of Tuscia\, under the coordination of Dr. Martina Galli.

SUMMARY:Artificial Intelligence and the Digitalization of Educational Processes within the Constitutional Framework
DESCRIPTION:The lecture series on “The Integration of Artificial Intelligence and the Digitalization of Educational Processes\, with Particular Reference to the Fundamental Principles Enshrined in the Constitution of the Italian Republic” is designed to familiarize students and staff with the main issues underlying this technology. \nThe lectures will cover theoretical foundations\, practical case studies\, and the ethical and legal implications of AI use in contemporary society\, with particular attention to the relationship between technological innovation and the protection of fundamental rights. Special reference will be made to the constitutional principles of substantive equality (Art. 3)\, freedom of expression and information (Art. 21)\, the right to education (Art. 34)\, the protection of health (Art. 32)\, and the promotion of the human person (Art. 2)\, which provide the framework for the responsible use of AI. \nA dedicated segment will focus on the role AI can play in supporting the psycho-physical well-being of university communities\, always respecting constitutional guarantees regarding dignity\, privacy\, and non-discrimination. \nThe lectures are part of the Proben project\, aimed at promoting quality of life in study and work environments. Within this context\, AI will be presented as a tool for monitoring\, prevention\, and personalization of support pathways to foster the full development of the individual\, in line with the constitutional principle of the complete development of human personality. \nThe series also aims to stimulate critical reflection\, fostering greater awareness in the use of emerging technologies. Theoretical sessions will alternate with practical workshops to make learning engaging and participatory\, particularly addressing the simplification of administrative acts and the use of AI in legislative and administrative processes\, thereby promoting closer interaction between citizens and the State. \nThe meetings will be open to the entire university community\, with the goal of creating spaces for dialogue and sharing\, so that AI becomes not only a subject of study but also a concrete resource in the service of collective well-being and the realization of constitutional principles. \n  \nProgram

DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, October 6th\, 2025\, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.\, the Aula Magna of the Santa Maria in Gradi complex at the University of Tuscia will host the first DEB of Science\, a day dedicated to science communication and exchange\, promoted by the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences (DEB). The event will primarily focus on topics in biology and ecology\, though not exclusively. Following the institutional greetings\, DEB faculty members will present some of the department’s most innovative research projects\, ranging from the potential use of new molecules derived from marine fungi to cancer treatment through oligonucleotides\, from the challenges of applied mathematics in biology to hybridization and phenotypic plasticity. At the end of the session\, a short coffee break will be offered. The morning will then continue in the medieval cloister with a poster session showcasing DEB’s research projects and academic programs\, providing a unique opportunity for direct interaction among researchers\, students\, and the general public. The scientific outreach at the heart of this initiative aims to inform and inspire citizens\, with a particular focus on young people and businesses\, fostering the creation of new synergies and professional careers. The event\, held in partnership with Porta Futuro Lazio (PFL) and under the patronage of Rome Technopole\, will take place in a hybrid format. DESCRIPTION:The University of Tuscia will confer the University Seal on Maestro Mogol\, one of the most influential figures in Italian music and culture.\nThe ceremony will take place on Monday\, 13 October 2025\, at 6:00 p.m.\, in the “Carlo Azeglio Ciampi” Auditorium. \nThe event will open with an introduction by Rector Stefano Ubertini\, followed by the laudatio and the presentation of the University Seal to Maestro Mogol.\nAfterwards\, Rector Ubertini and Carlo Galeotti\, Director of Tusciaweb\, will engage in a conversation with Mogol\, retracing the milestones of his extraordinary career and reflecting on the meaning of creativity and artistic expression. \nThe evening will continue with the performance “Music and Words”\, during which Mogol will share stories\, memories\, and insights about his most iconic songs\, accompanied on the piano by Maestro Giuseppe Barbera.\nThe event will conclude with a special finale\, filled with those “Emotions” that have marked the history of Italian music. \nAdmission is free until full capacity is reached.

SUMMARY:“Ethical and Scientific Aspects” | first meeting of the series “Environment and Society”
DESCRIPTION:On October 23\, 2025\, at 5:00 p.m.\, the “Environment and Society – Protection and Enhancement of Urban and Coastal Landscapes” series will open at the Cittadella “Semi di Pace” in Tarquinia. The initiative is promoted by Semi di Pace ODV\, Demos 23\, Assolidi\, the Società Tarquiniense d’Arte e Storia\, the cultural association La Lestra\, and Unicoop Tirreno – Sezione Soci Etruria. \nThe program aims to foster a shared reflection on the protection of the Tarquinia landscape—between the coast and the urban center—and on the value of the territory as a common good\, to be preserved and enhanced through knowledge and participation. \nThe first meeting\, entitled “Ethical and Scientific Aspects” will feature Giuseppe Nascetti\, Professor Emeritus of Ecology\, and Gianluca Piovesan\, Full Professor in the Degree Course in Natural and Environmental Sciences\, both from the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences (DEB) at the University of Tuscia. \nIn their talks\, the two professors will contribute to the discussion on landscape protection by exploring the relationship between scientific knowledge\, ethical responsibility\, and the sustainable management of natural resources. They will focus in particular on the value of Tarquinia’s coastal and urban landscapes\, and on conservation strategies that integrate biodiversity\, local identity\, and quality of life. \nThe event will serve as a moment of dialogue between research\, civic engagement\, and local institutions\, in line with the DEB’s commitment to promoting the University’s Third Mission. \nBROCHURE
