SUMMARY:Theatre for Inclusion Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The University Inclusion Committee is pleased to announce the first edition of the Theatre for Inclusion Workshop. \nThe 30-hour workshop will take place at the ArchLab and the Exhibition Hall of Santa Maria in Gradi on the following dates: March 26\, 27\, 28 – April 8 and 9\, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. It will be led by Dr. Francesca Aloi\, under the scientific coordination of the Rector’s Delegate for Inclusion\, Dr. Martina Galli\, and the project’s proponent\, Prof. Daniela Vitiello. \nThis theatrical practice does not use traditional scripts but instead focuses on the lived experiences of the participants. The aim is to stimulate social change and develop a critical awareness of the themes addressed. Through the Theatre for Inclusion Workshop\, the student body\, academic community\, and local citizens will have the opportunity to critically reflect on society and develop concrete strategies for addressing various challenges that may affect their personal and professional growth. \nThe first phase of the workshop will provide a theoretical introduction to Augusto Boal’s Theatre methodology and include practical experimentation with his games and exercises. These aim to foster a safe space\, stimulate expressiveness\, and encourage discussion on relevant social issues. \nIn the second phase\, participants will explore various theatrical techniques\, including Image Theatre and Newspaper Theatre. The latter uses theatrical language to highlight media distortions and manipulations. Drawing on real articles and news items\, the technique helps reveal what lies between the lines\, allowing participants to explore and represent topics such as human rights\, international migration\, gender equality\, cultural diversity\, disability\, and neurodiversity\, among others. \nRegistration is now open (free course)\nMaximum 30 participants \nFor more information and registration:\n📧 laboratorioinclusione@unitus.it \nPorta Futuro  \nScientific Committee:\nMartina Galli and Daniela Vitiello \nTrainer: Francesca Aloi \nPoster\nInformation

SUMMARY:Computational Modeling in Research and Future Perspectives in Quantum Computing | prof. Kakhaber Tavzarashvil
DESCRIPTION:Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 project\, Professor Kakhaber Tavzarashvili\, Director of the Center for Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence at the School of Science and Technology\, University of Georgia (Tbilisi\, Georgia)\, will deliver a seminar lecture entitled: “Computational Modeling in Research and Future Perspectives in Quantum Computing.” \nThe seminar will be held on Thursday\, 8 May 2025\, at 4:00 PM\, in Room F8\, Block F\, Campus Riello\, at the University of Tuscia (Largo dell’Università snc\, Viterbo). The event will also be accessible via live streaming at the link  meet.google.com/ovs-omfk-dcq \nThe lecture will provide an introductory overview of the role and potential of computational modeling in scientific research\, with particular emphasis on its application to the study of surface plasmon polaritons and frequency-selective surfaces — structures known for their capacity to generate enhanced electromagnetic fields at specific frequencies\, which can facilitate the attraction and deposition of nanoparticles or molecular layers. \nThe seminar is open to bachelor’s and master’s students of the University\, PhD students\, and all those with an interest in the subject. \nFor further information\, please contact Professor Chiara Baldacchini at: baldacchini@unitus.it. \nFlyer

SUMMARY:Hybridization and Evolutionary Success: From Insects to Humans | Prof. Giuseppe Nascetti
DESCRIPTION:As part of the course in General and Population Ecology\, taught by Prof. Roberta Bisconti\, Prof. Giuseppe Nascetti\, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Ecological and Biological Sciences (DEB)\, will deliver a seminar lecture entitled: “Hybridization and Evolutionary Success: From Insects to Humans.” \nThe event will takes place on Friday\, May 9th\, 2025\, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM\, at the Great Hall of the University Campus in Civitavecchia. The seminar will also be available via live streaming thanks to the collaboration with Porta Futuro Lazio (PFL). \nThis lecture offers an important opportunity to explore one of the most significant — yet still largely underexplored — eco-evolutionary processes underlying the emergence of new species: hybridization. The topic will be addressed through a series of case studies spanning the entire animal kingdom. \nParticipation is open to undergraduate and graduate students from the DEB degree programs\, PhD students in Ecology and Sustainable Management of Environmental Resources\, and to all those interested. \nTo receive the access link for the online session\, registration via the PFL portal is required. \nBrochure

SUMMARY:POPLAR CULTIVATION AS AN INNOVATIVE STRATEGY TO ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE THROUGH NEW CROPPING MODELS SUITABLE FOR THE PRODUCTION OF WOODY RAW MATERIALS FOR THE INDUSTRIAL AND ENERGY SECTORS
DESCRIPTION: JUNE 11 | 3:00 PM\n Registration:   https://seminaricreaunitus.crea.gov.it/ \nPoplar wood-based supply chains and their derivatives represent a hallmark of Italian excellence in both the agricultural and industrial sectors\, recognized internationally as well. Poplar cultivation provides high-quality raw material\, supported by intensive clonal selection and the promotion of sound cultivation techniques. These techniques rely on significantly fewer external inputs compared to major agricultural crops that typically share the same growing areas. Producing wood also means sequestering atmospheric carbon\, thereby contributing to key societal goals such as climate change mitigation and the environmental and landscape enhancement of rural areas. Among the viable approaches are agroforestry systems\, which combine tree-based forestry crops with agricultural cultivation and/or livestock farming\, thus creating multifunctional agricultural systems. \n The webinar is part of the training project “Towards Green Horizons”\, organized within the framework of the excellence project D.I.Ve.r.So.\nThe Order of Agronomists and Foresters of Viterbo will grant 0.25 Professional Training Credits (CFP) for each seminar; the Territorial College of Graduate Agricultural Experts of the Province of Rome will grant 2 CFP per seminar; the National College of Agrotechnicians will also grant 2 CFP per seminar.\nThe training project counts toward the annual 40-hour training performance target outlined in the Directive of the Minister for Public Administration dated January 16\, 2025. Credit recognition is subject to passing a final assessment test administered at the end of each event. \nLocandina Evento \n
